On March 5, in Dak Lak province, the Ministry of National Defense chaired and coordinated with the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee to organize a scientific workshop with the theme "Victory of the Central Highlands 1975 and the Half century of building and developing Dak Lak".

Speaking at the Workshop, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, said that 50 years ago, our army and people under the leadership of the Party won resounding victories in the Central Highlands campaign, liberating this land and part of the South Central region.
This victory created a strategic turning point, paving the way for a general offensive and uprising in the spring of 1975. From there, it creates an important premise to reach the complete victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country.

According to Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, the victory over the Central Highlands has affirmed the strategic vision and correct, timely and wise leadership and direction of our Politburo and the Central Executive Committee. Thereby, affirming the strength of great national unity and the aspiration for peace and national unity of our people in both the South and the North.
At the workshop, the presentations focused on analyzing the Party's military policies and the power of the people's war. In particular, special emphasis was placed on the spirit of national unity in the final stages of the resistance war against the US.
Experts also draw valuable lessons from military art.
The event also recognized the great achievements of the army and people of the Central Highlands, especially Dak Lak province in the past 50 years. At the same time, it proposed a direction to build this land to be increasingly beautiful, civilized and imbued with identity.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the victory of the Central Highlands in 1975 and the victory of Buon Ma Thuot are always the pride of the army and people of all ethnic groups in the locality in particular and of the people of all ethnic groups in the Central Highlands in general... This is a source of encouragement, motivation, and inspiration in educating revolutionary traditions for generations of cadres, soldiers of the armed forces and the people.
The lessons learned from the victory over the Central Highlands in 1975 will continue to be researched and creatively applied in the new conditions of the task of defending the Fatherland. Thereby, building a beautiful, civilized and unique Dak Lak province.
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Party Secretary, the event is an opportunity to review the tradition, affirm and analyze more clearly the historical significance and lessons learned from the Central Highlands victory 1975.
"This is also an opportunity for the province to introduce to delegates and people across the country the culture, land, people and achievements of the locality in the struggle for national liberation, in building and defending the Fatherland", added the Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee.
