On the afternoon of December 11, the 40th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee ended after 2 working days.
In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that this was the last session of 2024 and had completed all the contents.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested that the Government and the Supreme People's Court urgently complete the dossiers of bills and draft resolutions to be submitted to the National Assembly at the 9th Session.
Accordingly, agencies need to urgently review and prepare documents to propose amendments and supplements to laws on organizational apparatus to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly for consideration and supplementation to the law and ordinance making program to implement the policy of rearranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus, and submit to the National Assembly at the session in February 2025.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also assigned the Secretary General of the National Assembly to coordinate with the Ethnic Council, National Assembly Committees, and relevant agencies to carefully review each task.
Ensure immediate implementation of the contents included in the working program of the National Assembly Standing Committee in 2025, first of all, timely preparation of content for the January 2025 meeting.
According to Mr. Tran Thanh Man, 2025 is expected to have many major tasks to be implemented. This is the last year of the term, organizing Party Congresses at all levels to prepare for the 14th Party Congress, preparing for the election of the 16th National Assembly, and People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
Therefore, the National Assembly Chairman suggested focusing on handling a huge amount of work, requiring a high level of progress. In particular, arranging, streamlining, and perfecting the political system's organizational apparatus, first of all the central agencies, and needing to be completed soon before the 14th Congress.
In February 2025, the National Assembly is expected to hold an extraordinary session to amend relevant laws to serve the implementation of organizational arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus.
Therefore, the National Assembly Chairman requested that National Assembly agencies coordinate with Government agencies to urgently and speed up the preparation of documents to ensure progress and submit them according to the program set forth by the National Assembly Standing Committee.
After the extraordinary session of the National Assembly in February 2025, there are less than 3 months left to prepare for the 9th Session.
“I request that the agencies of the National Assembly, ministries and branches that are assigned to preside over the drafting and review of draft laws and draft resolutions that are expected to undergo organizational restructuring must promote high responsibility and carry out assigned tasks until the last day of operation.
We should not give up or rely on the new agency. Ensure that work is carried out continuously, smoothly, and without interruption before, during, and after the arrangement and merger" - the National Assembly Chairman requested.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man informed that on December 16, the Steering Committee for Streamlining the National Assembly's apparatus will meet, after which the National Assembly leadership will chair a meeting with all cadres, civil servants, and public employees of the National Assembly agencies to thoroughly grasp this spirit.
