On February 3, 1930, in Kowloon (Hong Kong, China), under the chairmanship of Comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc, the Conference to merge three communist organizations in Vietnam took place, unifying the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
This historical event ended the revolutionary and organizational crisis of the Vietnamese revolution, opening a new era in our country's history - the era of struggle for national independence and advancing towards socialism.
In just 15 years after its birth, our Party has continuously developed and led the struggle for national liberation, creating the victory of the August Revolution, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945, abolishing the semi-feudal colonial regime in Vietnam, opening a new chapter in national history. The Vietnamese people from the status of slaves have become masters of the country, masters of society and their own lives.

Immediately after the success of the August Revolution, our country simultaneously had to face "hungry enemy, ignorant enemy, and foreign invaders". In that context, the Party led our people to resolutely protect and build a young government, and at the same time actively prepared in all aspects for the resistance war against French colonialism.
With the right guidelines, promoting the strength of the entire nation, the Party led our people to achieve the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory, forcing the French colonialists to sign the Geneva Accords (in 1954) on peace in Indochina.
More than 20 years later, our country was divided and there was no peace. Under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, our people overcame countless hardships and sacrifices, carried out the great resistance war, defeated the war strategies of the American imperialists, completely liberated the South, and unified the country.
After the country was unified, the Party continued to lead the entire army and entire people to both strive to restore socio-economy, improve people's lives, and resolutely fight to maintain every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland, protecting independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Faced with new requirements in national development, our Party has set out and implemented a comprehensive national renovation roadmap, marking an important turning point on the transition path to socialism in Vietnam. The renovation roadmap was born to show the steadfast bravery and creative thinking of the Communist Party of Vietnam and open a new era for the development of the country.
After 40 years of implementing the renovation under the leadership of the Party, our country has overcome all difficulties, reaching for great achievements of historical significance. From a country devastated by war, besieged and isolated, Vietnam has now become a developing country with a medium income, deeply and widely integrated into world politics, the global economy, human civilization, and undertaking many international responsibilities.
In particular, surpassing the storm, GDP growth in 2025 reached 8.02%, averaging 6.3% in the period, belonging to the high group of the region and in the world. The economic scale increased from 346 billion USD (2020) to 514 billion USD (2025), ranking 32nd in the world; GDP per capita reached more than 5,000 USD, bringing Vietnam into the group of high-middle-income countries (completing one of the major milestones set by the 13th Party Congress). Maintaining a 10-year consecutive trade surplus (over 21 billion USD trade surplus in 2025).
Tourism is recovering strongly, in 2025 it welcomed over 21.5 million international visitors. The state-owned enterprise sector continues to play a key role; the private economy has clearly risen, being "one of the most important drivers of the national economy" as the spirit of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
FDI continues to be a bright spot, with 185 billion USD registered for the period 2021-2025, disbursement in 2025 reached 27.62 billion USD, the highest in 5 years, reflecting the confidence of international investors, and at the same time posing the requirement to improve the quality and spillover effect of growth.

The strategic infrastructure system has made breakthrough developments; many large-scale, synchronous, and modern transportation, energy, logistics, service, health, education, digital infrastructure, and urban infrastructure projects have been focused on construction and completion, with high connectivity and spread, creating new development space.
Social security policies are implemented comprehensively and consistently with high spending levels (17% of total budget expenditure) to "not leave anyone behind"; soon complete the goal of eliminating temporary housing, strongly developing social housing (334,000 houses, social housing, more than 100,000 apartments in 2025), the multidimensional poverty rate decreases rapidly (only 1.3%), affirming the State's consistent priority for people, especially vulnerable people and social justice.
In education and health, many long-term policies have been implemented, from exempting and supporting general education tuition fees, building more schools, increasing investment in education in difficult and border areas, to consolidating the health system, both solving long-standing problems and preparing the foundation for improving the quality of comprehensive people's health care. Environmental protection, resource management and adaptation to climate change are valued.
Faced with increasingly extreme natural disasters, the unified direction from the Central to grassroots levels and mobilization of both the State budget and social resources has helped minimize damage, soon stabilize life and restore production, clearly showing the constructive role, responsibility and humanity of the State and the Government.
The great achievements of the Vietnamese revolution originate from many factors, in which the correct and wise leadership of the Party is the leading decisive factor, along with the solidarity of the entire people and army. Through the revolutionary leadership process, our Party has been tempered and is increasingly mature and strong, worthy of the role and mission of revolutionary leadership and the trust and expectations of the people.
That reality has affirmed: in Vietnam, there is no other political force besides the Communist Party of Vietnam that has enough capacity, bravery, intelligence, experience and prestige to lead the country through all difficulties and challenges, bringing our nation's revolutionary cause from one victory to another.
