    Hai Phong - On June 30, the city announced resolutions and decisions on merging communes, wards, special zones and personnel work.

    On the morning of June 30, Hai Phong City (new) was officially established on the basis of arranging the entire natural area and population of Hai Phong City and Hai Duong Province. Hai Phong city (new) has a natural area of 3,194.72 km2, a population of 4,664,124 people; has 114 commune-level administrative units, including 67 communes, 45 wards and 2 special zones.
