On July 1, the new Thai Nguyen province (after merging with Bac Kan province) officially came into operation with a two-level government apparatus.
According to the decision of the Politburo, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung - Secretary of the old Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the new Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee.
The Politburo also appointed 4 Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee, including: Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province (old), to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province (new), term 2021-2026.
Mr. Pham Hoang Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province (old), holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province (new), term 2021-2026.
Mr. Dinh Quang Tuyen - Deputy Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee (old), holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee (new).
In Decision No. 1329/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed the positions of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province (new) for the 2021 - 2026 term, including:
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.
Ms. Hoang Thu Trang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province for the 2021 - 2026 term.
Mr. Nguyen Linh - Member of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan - Member of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Chairwoman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.
Mr. Nong Quang Nhat - Member of the Executive Committee of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan Province for the 2021 - 2026 term.
The new Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee consists of 64 members, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee consists of 15 members.
Thai Nguyen province (new) was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Bac Kan province and Thai Nguyen province. After the merger, Thai Nguyen province has 92 commune-level administrative units, including 77 communes and 15 wards, with a natural area of 8,375.21 km2 and a population of 1,799,489 people.
