The working trip opened a new phase in the relationship between Vietnam and Senegal and Morocco, creating a more comprehensive and substantial driving force for cooperation in various fields, especially economics, trade, investment, agriculture, and telecommunications.
8 important cooperation agreements were signed within the framework of the visit, including important documents that are orientative for relations between Vietnam and Senegal and Morocco in the coming time, such as: Cooperation agreement with the two countries' National Assemblies, Cooperation agreement in the agricultural sector; Specific economic agreements such as the Agreement on the purchase and sale of 100,000 tons of rice/year between Vietnam and Senegal.
For Switzerland, the working trip of the National Assembly Chairman contributed to promoting relations in many areas, especially the House of Representatives Chairman and the President of the Swiss Senate both supporting the promotion of resuming negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) to which Switzerland is a member in 2025 to bring bilateral trade to grow commensurate with the potential and strengths of the two countries. The National Assembly Chairman also attended and delivered the opening speech at the seminar "Building and operating an international financial center - Recommendations for Vietnam"; contributing to helping Vietnam determine the vision and direction for building a legal framework suitable for Vietnam's areas of need, perfecting the legal framework in accordance with the requirements of rapid and sustainable development in the new era.
Within the framework of attending the 6th Conference of the Presidents of the World Assembly with the theme "A world in chaos: Parliamentary cooperation and multilateralism for peace, fairness and prosperity for all people", National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended and delivered an important speech at the General Discussion Session.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang, the National Assembly Chairman shared a great, very correct and accurate message with a common theme, as well as the direction of speech of key countries, which is "Promoting parliamentary cooperation, solidarity and multilateralism for the benefit of all people in the world".
The content of the message affirms the irreplaceable role of multilateralism in creating peace and security, promoting sustainable development and innovation; promoting the role of parliamentary cooperation. The message also clearly states the core values of humanity and that all parliaments need to aim for, which are peace, justice, equality and sustainability, thereby putting the interests of the people at the center, joining hands to overcome differences and challenges for a better future for all people. The speech of the National Assembly Chairman was then shared by the Heads of the delegations, and public opinion responded positively, creating a strong influence.
On the occasion of attending the Conference, the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation members held dozens of meetings and contacts with parliamentary leaders of countries and the United Nations, thereby enhancing political understanding and trust, especially at high levels, contributing to deepening and comprehensively developing cooperation with countries, especially through the parliamentary channel.
International partners all highly appreciated the active and responsible role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in multilateral forums, expressing their desire to continue to cooperate and coordinate more closely, substantially and effectively with Vietnam.
The activities of the National Assembly Chairman and the Delegation during the conference contributed to further enhancing the position and image of Vietnam in general and the National Assembly of Vietnam in particular in the international arena.
