According to the program, the assessment of the results of the implementation of the 2024 socio-economic development plan; the expected 2025 socio-economic development plan will be discussed by the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly in the hall on November 4.

Previously, at the group discussion, many delegates contributed their opinions on this content. Many opinions highly appreciated the socio-economic development results in 2024, in which 14/15 targets met and exceeded the set plan, especially the GDP per capita target was approximately met and if the growth rate for the whole year of 2024 reached over 7%, this target would also be met; many economic sectors recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels; and were highly appreciated by international organizations for their growth prospects.

Delegates highly appreciated the Government's efforts in dealing with macroeconomic challenges and maintaining economic stability; highly appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic achievements in 2024 and the country's international reputation.

Some opinions say that the important achievement of socio-economic development in 2024 is to maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, increase wages but not increase prices; in the context of many fluctuations in the world, maintaining a stable macroeconomic foundation is an important premise for growth and development in 2024 as well as the following years. In addition, public debt, government debt, and budget deficit are controlled, lower than the target.

Some opinions highly appreciated the Government's efforts in controlling the CPI index, helping to curb inflation and stabilize other important economic indicators.

It is believed that maintaining the GDP growth index and especially the achievements in restoring the tourism industry, thanks to which GDP growth reached 6.82%, is expected to reach from 6.8% to 7% in 2024.

There are opinions suggesting to consider the practicality of the Government's target of GDP reaching about 750 - 800 billion USD by 2030, because then the growth rate in the next period must reach 8 - 9%/year.

In addition, there were opinions from National Assembly deputies proposing to increase salaries for education and health workers, pensions and upgrade preferential allowances for meritorious people; and proposing to increase housing support for meritorious people.

Regarding tasks and solutions for the last months of 2024, the Government emphasized that all levels, sectors and localities, based on their functions and powers, continue to focus on synchronously and effectively implementing tasks and solutions in all fields.

Maintain momentum, maintain development pace, promote growth associated with maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation and ensuring major balances; strive for GDP growth rate of over 7% for the whole year, controlling inflation below 4.5%; credit growth of about 15%; state budget revenue increase of over 10%; public investment disbursement rate of at least 95% of the plan.

Continue to review and improve institutions, amend problematic legal regulations. Resolutely reform administrative procedures, improve the investment and business environment.

Speed up the progress of important and key national projects and works while preventing and combating corruption, negativity and waste.
