On July 16, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc chaired a working session with the Ministry of Finance and relevant ministries, sectors, and businesses on the implementation of dossiers and procedures to adjust the investment policy of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project, and at the same time considered the investment preparation for the Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power project.
According to the Government Electronic Information Portal, at the meeting, leaders of ministries and sectors unanimously assessed that Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power projects are of particular importance to ensuring national energy security, meeting socio-economic development requirements in the long term, contributing to maintaining macroeconomic stability, and at the same time having significance for national defense and security.
Opinions suggest that the implementation of projects needs to have specific mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions for the appraisal process, investment preparation and implementation.
The Ministry of Finance proposed that the Government report to the National Assembly to allow the separation of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power master plan into 3 independent component projects (Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power project, Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power project and compensation, support, and resettlement project);
At the same time, assign EVN to urgently complete the dossier of Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power project, PVN to complete the dossier of Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power project and Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to complete the dossier of compensation, support, and resettlement components.
Delegates also focused on discussing solutions to improve mechanisms, remove procedural obstacles and accelerate the progress of investment preparation for projects.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc emphasized that the implementation of Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power projects is a major policy of the Party and State, which has been agreed upon by the Politburo and issued a resolution by the National Assembly.
The current requirement is to urgently complete mechanisms, policies, dossiers, and procedures to soon implement the project according to the policy decided by competent authorities.
Emphasizing that this is a very difficult task, unprecedented and of particular importance, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries and sectors to promote the spirit of proactiveness, research, and propose breakthrough mechanisms and policies, especially in choosing investment methods, creating a legal basis and favorable conditions to accelerate project implementation progress.
The Standing Deputy Prime Minister requested relevant ministries, branches, agencies, and businesses to continue to closely coordinate, proactively remove difficulties and obstacles, and ensure the progress and quality of assigned tasks.
At the same time, assign the Ministry of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVN, PVN, ministries, branches, relevant agencies and the Government Office to urgently complete dossiers and documents according to assigned functions and tasks, ensuring quality and progress to report to competent authorities for consideration and decision, and submit to the National Assembly according to regulations.
Strengthen exchanges and coordination with agencies of the National Assembly in the process of completing dossiers to create unity, consensus, and improve the quality of preparation work before submitting to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
