Prestigious people in ensuring security and order in ethnic minority areas
With their special position and role, prestigious people among ethnic minorities have promoted and affirmed their role as the core force, an important bridge between the Party Committee, government and people, mobilizing ethnic minorities to comply with the State's policies and laws, actively building the great national unity bloc.
In Quang Ninh province, clearly identifying the core role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities, the Dong Ngu Commune Police force has increased mobilization, closely coordinated with outstanding individuals to participate in maintaining security and order (ANTT) at the grassroots level.
This approach not only brings practical results in ensuring national security and social order and safety, but also contributes to strengthening the great national unity bloc, building a solid people's security posture from the grassroots.
There are currently 17 individuals recognized as prestigious people in the ethnic minority area. These are typical core elements, with a voice, a positive influence in the community and always accompany local governments in political, economic - social and national defense - security activities.
In recent years, Dong Ngu Commune Police have effectively promoted the role of this force by regularly organizing meetings, propagating, exchanging information and listening to the thoughts and aspirations of prestigious people.
Thereby, promptly mobilizing them to actively participate in the work of law propaganda, guiding people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; do not believe, do not listen to distorted statements, do not participate in illegal activities, eliminate superstitions and social evils.
Prestigious people are also a pioneer in mobilizing and educating children and grandchildren in the village, strictly complying with regulations on security and order protection (ANTT).
Since the beginning of the year, there have been many small conflicts and disputes among the people that have been promptly mediated at the grassroots level, not allowed to be prolonged, spread or taken advantage of by bad guys. This initiative has contributed to preventing the risk of forming hot spots, ensuring political security stability, social order and safety in the whole commune.
Similarly, in Luong Minh commune, the whole commune currently has 15 prestigious people, distributed in 15 villages, all of whom effectively promote the role of "connecting" between the Party Committee, government, police force and people. Through exemplary individuals and personal reputation, many conflicts in the community have been resolved promptly, contributing to preventing the emergence of "hot spots".
Typically, Mr. Pham Van Vinh, a prestigious person in Dong Tan village, has participated in mediating 2 complicated family conflicts, helping to stabilize the situation at the grassroots level. Or Mr. Duong Van Chieu, Khe Na village, provided important information to help the Commune Police detect and arrest illegal logging subjects, effectively protecting forest resources.
In Phu Tho province, one of the typical examples is Mr. Sung A Denh, a prestigious person in Thung Mat hamlet, Pa Co commune (established on the basis of merging 3 communes of Hang Kia, Pa Co, Cun Pheo and three hamlets of Tam Hoa, Bo Bau, Bo Liem - Dong Tan commune, Mai Chau district, old Hoa Binh province).
With the perseverance of the people's movement and trust, he has helped 23 drug addicts in the village voluntarily go to drug rehabilitation, contributing to cleaning up the area. Not stopping there, he also convinced a wanted subject for illegal drug trafficking to surrender, helping the authorities complete their mission.
In addition, Mr. Denh also regularly grasps the local situation, promptly reports and advises the Commune Police to resolve arising conflicts, maintains stability and consensus in the community.
Policy to accompany and promote the role of prestigious people
Recognizing the important role of prestigious people in ethnic minority areas, the Administrative Police for Social Order has proactively coordinated with functional units to advise and propose local authorities to implement many practical support policies.
Propaganda, legal knowledge training, and dissemination of information about the political situation and security and order in the locality have been promoted. Prestigious people are instructed on how to use digital utilities such as VNeID application and online public services within the framework of Project 06/CP, to gradually improve awareness and efficiency in performing tasks in the current digital transformation conditions.
Activities of visiting and encouraging prestigious people when they are sick or in difficulty, giving gifts during the holidays, as well as timely rewarding outstanding individuals are proof of the concern and support from the Party Committee, government and functional forces for prestigious people.
In Quang Ngai, the provincial police force has proactively coordinated closely with departments, branches, localities and relevant agencies to synchronously deploy security and order solutions in the area, especially focusing on mass mobilization, taking advantage of and promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities.
In recent years, a team of prestigious people - including village elders, village chiefs, religious dignitaries, and exemplary people in the community - have truly become an "extended arm" of the Party, State, and the grassroots police force.
Not only are they exemplary and pioneers in all emulation movements, they also actively participate in maintaining security and order in the locality.
