Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said that new technology trends are reshaping modern journalism at an unprecedented speed. Many advanced technologies are being applied and are expected to continue to change the press industry in the near future.
The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized that the future of journalism is a blend of human creativity and technology - the stronger the combination, the more effective the spread and the more reliable the outstanding. If Vietnamese press pioneers in exploiting new technologies, it will be competitive and integrated, providing accurate, fair, balanced, lively and personalized news, serving all classes of the public.
What I hope for is that instead of saying this is too far away or where to get money to invest, lets consider it as something essential for ourselves, lets do it from the smallest things and change ourselves today before its too late, the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized.

Regarding technological autonomy, at the forum, representatives of press agencies shared practical experiences in digital transformation at the newsroom. According to Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper Nguyen Ngoc Hien, digital transformation in journalism needs to be transformed from the smallest, simplest and most suitable things. "Instead of relying on foreign measurement tools to determine how this article is spread, we need to have our own measurement system to know which official information is of interest and needs development" - Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper said.
Currently, Lao Dong Newspaper has become one of the very few press agencies that are completely autonomous in technology thanks to self-developing its own software, self-made electronic court system, AI software to check typing errors... Lao Dong Newspaper builds on the Electronic Information Portal of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Chatbot software to answer all questions of workers...
The Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper also hopes for closer coordination between press agencies in sharing experiences in implementing digital transformation. Lao Dong Newspaper is ready to share, transfer, and support press agencies in building their own website and AI for newspapers. At the same time, learn from colleagues about digital transformation experiences.
Sharing the same opinion on technological autonomy, Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, said that the application of technology in press agencies requires large investment sources, therefore, Vietnam must be autonomous in core technology, especially technology and AI for the press. Press agencies need to join hands with domestic technology companies to produce software and AI applications for the press. At the same time, there should be a favorable legal mechanism to encourage this cooperation.
Also at the forum, delegates shared some contents related to the proposal to establish a Press Innovation Support Fund; Digital Transformation Fund for Public Journalism or Press Development Fund; press security issues in the context of applying information technology, artificial intelligence; training a team of reporters and editors to meet current requirements...
