Dear delegates!
Today, in the sacred and heroic atmosphere of the August Revolution, we solemnly celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Eighties ago, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh respectfully read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the first People's Democratic State in Southeast Asia, opening an era of independence and freedom for the country. From that historic moment, the Vietnamese people entered a new journey: building a People's Government, defending the Fatherland, leading the country firmly forward on the path of socialism, for the goal of "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization".
In this sacred moment, we respectfully commemorate our ancestors, express our infinite gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh; express our gratitude to revolutionary predecessors, millions of compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed and devoted themselves to the independence, freedom, national unity and happiness of the people.
We will forever remember the contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, veterans, war invalids, sick soldiers, martyrs' families, people with revolutionary contributions; engrave the contributions of the team of workers, farmers, businessmen, intellectuals, artists, veterans, youth, women, children, religious people, ethnic groups, and people abroad, friends and progressive people in the world who have stood shoulder to shoulder, helped, and supported the just revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people over the past eighty years.
The Vietnamese Fatherland is the crystallization of the thousand-year-old cultural tradition of building and defending the country; of resilience, intelligence, compassion and aspiration to rise up. That spirit has fostered the great strength of the August Revolution; of the two important resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism; of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in peace; of the cause of innovation, international integration and national development. That is the strength originating from the people, belonging to the people, for the people; the strength of the great national unity bloc under the glorious flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam founded, led and trained by President Ho Chi Minh.
We are proud to affirm that: All victories of the Vietnamese revolution are associated with the correct and wise leadership role of the Party and the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh. Our Party, the pioneering team of the working class, and at the same time the pioneering team of the working people and the Vietnamese people, is always steadfast in its goal of national independence associated with socialism; creatively applying and developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology in line with the country's reality through each stage; putting the interests of the Fatherland and the People above all, first of all. Thanks to that, our nation has overcome countless difficulties and challenges; our country has gone from a colony to an independent, unified country, steadily moving towards modernity and deep integration; its position and prestige are increasingly affirmed in the international arena.
Dear compatriots, comrades!
The task of protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland; maintaining security, order and social safety for the country's rapid and sustainable development; constantly improving the lives and happiness of the people is our order of action. Successfully implementing those three goals is to fulfill Uncle Ho's wish before going away: "My last wish is: that our entire Party and people unite to strive, build a peaceful, united, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam, and make a worthy contribution to the cause of the World Revolution".
Through the journey of 80 years full of hardship but heroism, we have affirmed the truth: under the glorious flag of the Party, with the light of Ho Chi Minh lighting the way, relying on the strength of the People and the great national unity bloc, there are no difficulties or challenges that our people cannot overcome; there are no noble goals that our people cannot achieve. Therefore, there is no obstacle, no reason that can prevent us from reaching peace, prosperity, our nation lasts and develops.
Looking forward, our Party sets a goal that by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, Vietnam will be a strong, prosperous and happy nation. That is the aspiration of the entire nation, an honorary oath before History, before the People.
I call on the entire Party, people, army, and people at home and abroad, through specific and practical actions, to unite, join efforts, be unanimous, and make aspirations come true; make more efforts and be more determined; promote the highest intelligence, creativity and bravery of Vietnam; successfully carry out the goals and tasks set by the Party and State and the people.
We resolutely and persistently protect the independence, freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and every sacred land of the Fatherland with the combined strength of the entire nation: political, economic, cultural, scientific, technological, military, foreign affairs, and people's strength. We want to be friends, trusted partners with all countries in the world. We respect international law, the United Nations Charter; resolve disagreements and disputes by peaceful means. We absolutely do not give in to any plots or actions that violate independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; resolutely protect the interests of the nation and people.
Dear compatriots, comrades!
In this sacred moment, each of us seems to be seeing the echo of Uncle Ho's 1945 Declaration of Independence, seeing millions of Vietnamese hearts joining in the proud beat, together issuing the oath "determined to die so that the Fatherland can be born". We understand the value of Independence, Friendship, Happiness; the more we value and are determined to cultivate peace; the more we absorb the sacred meaning of the words My People, My Fatherland.
Once again, I would like to respectfully bow to the spirit of the great President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs, who have transformed into the country, into the sacred soul of the nation.
I would like to send my warmest wishes to compatriots, comrades, soldiers nationwide, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Vietnam lasts forever; The Fatherland of Vietnam is peaceful, the Vietnamese people are prosperous and developed.
The Socialist Republic of Vietnam is glorious and perennial.
The Communist Party of Vietnam is honored forever.
The great President Ho Chi Minh will live forever in our cause.
The glory forever belongs to the People.
