On December 9, Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee convened the 19th Provincial Party Executive Committee Conference (term XI).
Chaired by Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Thien Nghia - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, the conference discussed many important contents. Including the content of streamlining the apparatus and operating strongly, effectively and efficiently.
Accordingly, Dong Thap will arrange, merge, and terminate the operations of provincial and district-level units in sync with the Central Government. It is expected to reduce at least 112 focal points, including: 12 focal points directly under the Provincial Party Committee, 36 focal points directly under the district-level Party Committee; 11 focal points, 22 internal apparatus organizations directly under the Provincial People's Committee and 31 focal points under the district-level People's Committee.
The most notable of these is the plan to streamline the province's media and press agencies according to two options.
Option 1: Maintain the operation of the Radio and Television Station (a self-sufficient unit for regular expenditures), end the operation of the "Electronic Information Portal" under the Provincial People's Committee Office by returning the staff to the Provincial People's Committee Office and transferring the functions and tasks to Dong Thap Newspaper. Assign Dong Thap Newspaper to be responsible for reviewing and supplementing regulations on functions, tasks, organization, and apparatus, focusing on building it into a provincial mouthpiece, developing printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, and magazines suitable for carrying out the province's political tasks and receiving partial funding from the state budget.
Option 2 will merge the Radio - Television Station with Dong Thap Newspaper into Dong Thap Radio and Television Station. At the same time, the Dong Thap Electronic Information Portal will be terminated and its functions and tasks will be transferred to Dong Thap Radio and Television Station. The new unit will simultaneously perform the functions of print, audio, visual and electronic newspapers.
