On March 25, in Hanoi, the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity (Steering Committee) held a meeting to discuss and give opinions on the results of implementing the Conclusions of General Secretary To Lam since the 27th meeting of the Steering Committee to date.
General Secretary To Lam, Head of the Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity chaired the meeting. Also attending the meeting were Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and members of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee.
According to the Central Internal Affairs Committee, regarding a number of tasks in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee emphasized the need to continue to synchronously and drastically implement solutions to prevent, detect, and handle corruption, waste, and negativity, without forbidden areas, without exceptions, and must be associated with the goal of socio-economic development, ensuring the highest national and ethnic interests; prioritize the recovery of assets for the state, handle them economically, civil, and administratively, and finally criminal handling.
In key tasks, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee emphasized the need to continue to synchronously implement solutions to prevent corruption, waste and negativity.
The focus is on promoting comprehensive digital transformation according to Resolution 57 of the Politburo. Strongly reform administrative procedures based on digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence (AI), innovate management and operation methods, enhance publicity, transparency, accountability, limit contact, completely treat harassment, cause inconvenience to people and businesses, at the same time reduce compliance costs, improve labor productivity.
Promote cashless payments to effectively control assets and income. Extensively and substantially implement tasks and solutions on education, need, thrift, fairness, impartiality and selflessness; form a culture of integrity, no corruption, waste, negativity, become self-conscious and voluntary work, "like daily food, drink, clothes" among cadres, party members and people.
Do a good job of propaganda, create consensus in society on the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity, associated with the country's development goals.
Propaganda work needs to be diverse and in-depth to change awareness, warn of violations and encourage the participation of cadres, party members and people in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity;
At the same time, strengthen the fight against and refutation of erroneous, hostile viewpoints and arguments, taking advantage of the prevention and control of corruption, waste and negativity to cause internal division and sabotage of the Party and the State, especially at the time of organizing Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.
Also at this meeting, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee agreed to include a number of cases and incidents with signs of waste in the scope of the Steering Committee for monitoring and direction, including:
(1) The case of "Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste" related to violations at the Trade Center and Transaction Center Building Project, Vietnam Cement Corporation (VICEM);
(2) Hoi Xuan Hydropower Project, Thanh Hoa Province;
(3) Project to build the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
(4) Sub-project 2 (Lim - Pha Lai), part of the Yen Vien - Pha Lai - Ha Long - Cai Lan railway project.
