This morning (March 18), at Mong Cai International Border Gate (Quang Ninh province), a ceremony was held to welcome the Chinese delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun, Minister of National Defense of China, to Vietnam to attend activities within the framework of the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.


The welcoming ceremony was solemnly hosted by General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense.

Attending the welcoming ceremony were members of the Party Central Committee: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong. Also attending were Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; heads of agencies and units inside and outside the army, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh, leaders of ministries, departments, and branches.
Attending were leaders of 6 provinces bordering China (Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Lao Cai).

General Phan Van Giang warmly welcomed Senior Lieutenant General Dong Quan and the Chinese delegation to Vietnam to attend the exchange.


The welcoming ceremony took place in a warm atmosphere of friendship, with a large number of people and students waving flags and flowers, chanting slogans "Vietnam - China friendship, Vietnam - China solidarity" to welcome the Chinese delegation along both sides of Bac Luan 1 bridge.


Next, the two Ministers together planted a friendship tree in the premises of Mong Cai International Border Gate and took souvenir photos with delegates from the two delegations of Vietnam and China.


After the welcoming ceremony, the Ministers of National Defense of the two countries will jointly participate in activities within the framework of exchanges in Vietnam, including: Attending the groundbreaking ceremony of Hai Son Commune Health Station; visiting Tran Phu High School; visiting Tra Co Border Guard Station and having important talks.
