General Phan Van Giang requested forces to continue to coordinate closely to effectively protect borders and protect domestic security in the new situation.

On the afternoon of March 17, in Quang Ninh province, General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense worked with the Standing Committee of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee on the occasion of leading a high-level delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam to participate in activities within the framework of the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange held in Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang; Senior Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai.

On the side of Quang Ninh province, there was Mr. Quan Minh Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Military Party Committee of Quang Ninh province.

At the working session, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Quan Minh Cuong reported on the results of military and local defense work, border guard work in 2025 and the direction and tasks of military and local defense in 2026 of Quang Ninh province.

Regarding the direction and tasks for 2026, the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee identified this year's theme as "Breakthrough in economic growth; improving urban quality, soon reaching the criteria of a centrally-run city".

Accordingly, effectively implement the resolutions and directives of the Central Government and the Provincial Party Committee on national defense and security tasks. Promptly and effectively handle situations arising at the local level, not to be passive or surprised... Deploy synchronously and creatively foreign affairs activities and proactively and actively integrate internationally, build borders of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation, and development.

Speaking at the working session, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding results in socio-economic development and consolidation of national defense and security of Quang Ninh province in 2025.

General Phan Van Giang requested the Party Committee and government of Quang Ninh province in the coming time to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Government on the field of military and national defense, including Resolution No. 44-NQ/TW dated November 24, 2023 of the 13th Party Central Committee on "Strategy for National Protection in the New Situation".

General Phan Van Giang also requested forces to continue to coordinate closely to effectively protect borders and protect domestic security in the context that the task of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new development era poses higher requirements. Implementing socio-economic development tasks must be associated with ensuring solid national defense, maintaining borders and islands...
