In the afternoon of July 30, 2026, at the headquarters of the Party Central Committee Office, General Secretary and President To Lam received Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea Kim Yun Duk on the occasion of his visit and working trip to Vietnam.
At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed Minister Kim Yun Duk's visit to Vietnam and expressed his belief that the visit will contribute to promoting economic cooperation between the two countries in particular and the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general. On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam respectfully conveyed his cordial greetings to South Korean President Lee Jae Myung; and expressed his belief that under the leadership of President Lee Jae Myung, South Korea will continue to achieve even more important achievements in the coming time.
General Secretary and President To Lam expressed satisfaction with the substantial achievements in the two countries' relations in recent times; affirmed that Vietnam values relations with Korea and wishes to strongly promote the development of the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, especially in the fields of political, economic, trade, investment, science and technology cooperation, cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, including early completion of the 150 billion USD target by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable direction; wished Korea to accompany Vietnam in implementing the country's strategic development goals in the coming time.
Welcoming the close cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea, General Secretary and President To Lam proposed that the two sides strengthen experience exchange and promote practical cooperation in the fields of infrastructure construction, renewable energy, shipbuilding technology, and high-quality human resource development, all of which are areas Vietnam prioritizes to develop in the new era.
For his part, Minister Kim Yun Duk respectfully conveyed the cordial greetings of South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to General Secretary and President To Lam and senior Vietnamese leaders. Congratulating the great achievements in Vietnam's socio-economic development in recent times, Minister Kim Yun Duk expressed his belief that under the leadership of General Secretary and President To Lam, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve many new achievements, realizing the goal of making Vietnam a developing country with modern industry by 2030, and becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.
On this occasion, Minister Kim Yun Duk forwarded a Letter from South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to General Secretary and President To Lam affirming the desire to promote cooperative relations between the two countries; emphasizing that South Korea is ready to share development experiences in areas where South Korea has strengths and Vietnam has needs; and South Korea will be one of the reliable partners with Vietnam to implement national development goals in the coming time.
