On September 18, according to information from the Ministry of Home Affairs, regarding the situation and results of implementing tasks from 2021 to present, directions and key tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Truong Hai Long said: Religious work is a multi-sectoral, multi-field work related to religious freedom and human rights, which is very complicated and sensitive.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has proactively coordinated with the Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other ministries, sectors and localities to strengthen institutional improvement.
At the same time, the Ministry of Home Affairs also enhances the guidance and direction of local Party committees and authorities to proactively coordinate with religious organizations to properly implement the provisions of the law and the charters of religious organizations to create consensus, stability, and socio-economic development of the locality. Accordingly, the state management of beliefs and religions is basically stable.
The issue of belief and religion has received much public attention. Previously, the provinces of Ca Mau, Khanh Hoa, and Vinh Long requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to improve policies and laws on belief and religion to suit the new situation, especially regulations on land, belief and religious constructions, and to promptly advise on the issuance of a decree on handling administrative violations in the field of belief and religion according to regulations.
Hung Yen province also requested the Ministry to regularly direct, guide, inform about the situation, and provide relevant documents on the formation process, methods of operation, and state management issues regarding new beliefs and religions, "strange religions", "evil religions", and activities that take advantage of beliefs and religions;
Organize training courses to improve legal knowledge on beliefs and religions and share experiences and skills in managing and handling situations of beliefs and religions for officials and civil servants working in beliefs and religions at all levels.
