General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the dedication, vision and practical contributions of Vietnamese intellectuals.

During his working trip to attend the Future Summit, the High-level General Debate of the 79th United Nations General Assembly and work in the US, on September 22, General Secretary and President To Lam had a friendly meeting with a group of Vietnamese intellectuals of different generations living in Houston, Texas (US), according to VNA.

Pleased to meet Vietnamese intellectuals whom he had met before, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary and President To Lam sent his best wishes and warmest sentiments to the Vietnamese people in the US.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider overseas Vietnamese an inseparable part of the country; recognizing that the overseas Vietnamese community is growing, making many valuable contributions to the development of the US, as well as positively contributing to the relationship between Vietnam and the US.

The General Secretary and President hopes that Vietnamese intellectuals in the US and around the world will unite and join forces to continue making contributions to the future development, towards a new era for the country.

Representing the Vietnamese intellectual group in Houston, Mr. Vu Van Le expressed his emotion at meeting General Secretary and President To Lam after many years; thanked the General Secretary and President for his sincere feelings for Vietnamese people living abroad, as well as for his concern and sharing with him about the country's culture and history.

Always proud of the glorious history of the country and happy to see the country increasingly developing, Mr. Vu Van Le affirmed that although he has settled and worked in the US for many years, the Vietnamese blood never stops flowing in him and generations of Vietnamese intellectuals have never stopped thinking about Vietnam and always try to contribute their intelligence and enthusiasm to the future of a prosperous Vietnam.

Mr. Vu Van Le emphasized that in terms of expertise, there are Vietnamese people in every field, from engineers, doctors to experts in technology, science, and artificial intelligence, who want to contribute and make practical contributions to the development of domestic fields, helping to bring the country into a new era of development. He also hopes that the young generation of Vietnamese intellectuals in the US in particular and abroad in general will continue to turn to their homeland and make increasingly practical contributions.

On this occasion, a group of Vietnamese intellectuals sent 10,000 USD to support people in localities that have just suffered damage caused by storm No. 3.
