More than 2 million officials get a 8% salary increase, the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to advise on salary reform

One of the key tasks of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the last 4 months of the year is to advise on the Project on reforming salary and social insurance policies.

At the press briefing of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the afternoon of September 11, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs Bui Huy Tung informed about the outstanding results of the first 8 months of the year and the key tasks for the last 4 months of 2026 of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Regarding salary policy, social insurance and labor relations, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs Bui Huy Tung said: In the first 8 months of the year, the Ministry has advised and submitted to the Government for promulgation a Decree stipulating the base salary and bonus regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces.

Accordingly, more than 2 million officials, civil servants, public employees and armed forces will be increased by 8% from July 1, 2026.

The Ministry also advised and submitted to the Government the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) to cover and expand the beneficiaries of social insurance, towards a multi-layered and sustainable social security system; labor relations are generally stable and harmonious, without fluctuations or complications.

Regarding some key tasks in the last 4 months of 2026 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Chief of Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs clearly stated the group of tasks to advise competent authorities and improve institutions.

Accordingly, the Ministry will advise the 4th and 5th Conferences of the Central Executive Committee on the Conclusion on the Strategy for attracting, using, and developing talents in key industries and fields to serve the country's rapid and sustainable development; Project on reforming salary and social insurance policies.

The Ministry also implemented Resolution No. 3 of the Central Committee, of the Politburo and the Conclusions of the Politburo, General Secretary, and President.

At the same time, the Ministry of Home Affairs prepares dossiers to submit to the 3rd Session, 16th National Assembly for 4 amended and supplemented Laws; submits to the National Assembly Standing Committee Resolution amending and supplementing Resolution No. 112 on standards of administrative units.

The Ministry will also complete and submit to the Government and the Prime Minister 24 Decrees, 8 Resolutions, and Decisions.
