At the invitation of Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Speaker of the Jordanian Lower House Mazen Turki El Qadi paid an official visit to Vietnam from May 2nd. 2.
On the afternoon of February 2nd, immediately after the official welcoming ceremony was solemnly held at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi and the high-level delegation of the two countries' Parliaments.
At the talks, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man informed about the results of the 14th Party Congress, the preparation for the 16th National Assembly election and emphasized the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, multilateralization, diversification, and readiness to actively and responsibly contribute to peace, stability and cooperation on the basis of respecting the United Nations Charter and international law.
Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam for the first time, saying that after the visit to Vietnam, King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan repeatedly mentioned his impression of Vietnam's three special points: "geographical location, political views and role and position in the region".
Ngưỡng mộ các thành tựu phát triển của Việt Nam, Chủ tịch Hạ viện Jordan nhấn mạnh, Jordan coi Việt Nam như một “phép màu phát triển kinh tế, công nghệ”, khẳng định Jordan rất coi trọng và mong muốn tăng cường hợp tác “không giới hạn” với Việt Nam. Chủ tịch Hạ viện đặc biệt đánh giá cao lập trường, quan điểm cân bằng và sự hỗ trợ của Việt Nam đối với vấn đề Palestine.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi agreed to continue to strengthen political and diplomatic relations, considering this an important foundation to promote comprehensive cooperation; strengthen delegation exchanges, especially high-level delegations and between specialized committees of the two countries' National Assemblies.
Hai nhà lãnh đạo nhất trí thúc đẩy sự hiện diện và hỗ trợ công dân, doanh nghiệp hai nước, trong đó có hướng tới xem xét mở cơ quan đại diện thường trú tại hai nước.
Về hợp tác nghị viện, Chủ tịch Quốc hội Trần Thanh Mẫn và Chủ tịch Hạ viện Jordan Mazen Turki El Qadi thống nhất cần tăng cường trao đổi và chia sẻ kinh nghiệm lập pháp, cập nhật thông tin về cơ cấu tổ chức, hoạt động nghị viện mỗi nước; thúc đẩy giao lưu, hợp tác giữa các nghị sĩ, trong đó nghiên cứu thành lập Nhóm Nghị sĩ hữu nghị.
Về hợp tác kinh tế - thương mại, hai bên cho rằng, tiềm năng hợp tác giữa hai nước còn lớn. Chủ tịch Quốc hội Trần Thanh Mẫn nhấn mạnh, Việt Nam mong muốn mở rộng hợp tác với Jordan trong các lĩnh vực kinh tế - thương mại, đầu tư, du lịch, nông nghiệp, giáo dục - đào tạo, y tế; thúc đẩy hợp tác trong các lĩnh vực hai bên có thế mạnh bổ trợ nhau, trong đó mong Jordan hỗ trợ công nghệ chống ngập mặn bằng rạn san hô tại Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen coordination, promote negotiations, and soon sign and ratify important bilateral agreements to improve the legal framework and facilitate cooperation.
Sau hội đàm, Chủ tịch Quốc hội Trần Thanh Mẫn và Chủ tịch Hạ viện Jordan Mazen Turki El Qadi đã ký “Bản ghi nhớ hợp tác giữa Quốc hội nước Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam và Hạ viện Vương quốc Hashemite Jordan”, tạo khuôn khổ thúc đẩy quan hệ hợp tác nghị viện giữa hai nước trong thời gian tới.
