Based on the report of the National Traffic Safety Committee in Document No. 109/UBATGTQG dated June 26, 2025 on the organization of local traffic safety Committee activities in the new model, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha - Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee assigned the Ministry of Public Security to urgently report to the Prime Minister on the Project to perfect the National Traffic Safety Committee.
During the period before the National Traffic Safety Committee was completed, the Chairman of the People's Committee (UBND) and the Head of the Traffic Safety Committees of provinces and centrally run cities continued to maintain the operation of the Traffic Safety Committees of provinces and cities according to current regulations.
Proactively organize and implement activities to ensure order and traffic safety in accordance with actual conditions at the two levels of government.
The Chairman of the People's Committee and the Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of the provinces and centrally run cities proactively consider and decide on the plan to organize the Provincial and Municipal Traffic Safety Committee Office, assign a department-level unit to work as a permanent unit such as the Department of Construction, the Provincial/City Police, the People's Committee Office or a unit with appropriate functions.
Temporarily regulate the functions, tasks, powers, components, and organizational structure of the Traffic Safety Committee at the commune level (ensuring the implementation of the functions and tasks of the previous district-level Traffic Safety Committee), without interruption in performing functions and tasks related to ensuring order and traffic safety in the area.
At the same time, the Chairman of the People's Committee and the Head of the Traffic Safety Committee at the provincial/urban level are responsible for directing the People's Committees of communes and wards in the area to urgently organize a temporary Commune-level Traffic Safety Committee, ensuring a chain of implementing tasks from the central to the grassroots level.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the National Traffic Safety Committee to coordinate with localities to monitor, summarize implementation results, promptly report to the Prime Minister on arising difficulties and problems and propose appropriate solutions.
