Quang Tri opens a new vision
Speaking at the 1st Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien said that this is an event of special significance, marking a new step in the province's development after the merger.
On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front sent congratulations to all cadres, party members, soldiers of the armed forces and people of Quang Tri for their great achievements in the past time: the GRDP growth rate in the period of 2021-2025 reached an average of 6.8%, estimated at 8% in 2025; the economic structure shifted in the right direction; transportation infrastructure, energy, tourism were invested synchronously.
Quang Tri - Quang Binh after the merger has demonstrated a spirit of solidarity, creativity, overcoming difficulties and rising up, basically completing development goals. In particular, the province has taken the lead in implementing the two-level local government model, creating smoothness, effectiveness and efficiency in management and operation.
However, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also frankly pointed out: the scale of the economy is still modest, some areas are not commensurate with the potential; the quality of human resources, investment attraction and life in ethnic minority areas is still limited.
Unleashing potential, creating development breakthroughs
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front affirmed that after the merger, Quang Tri has a strategic position as both a gateway to the North Central region and a gateway to the East-West economic corridor, with nearly 200km of coastline, port system, border gate and potential for clean energy development.
The province needs to take science, technology, innovation as a driving force; take solidarity and unity as a strength; make the most of the potential of seas, forests, and border gates to make breakthroughs.
According to the orientation, Quang Tri must strive to become a clean energy center of the Central region, taking advantage of the 500kV North-South transmission system to form an auxiliary industrial ecosystem; at the same time, strongly developing tourism to become a spearhead economic sector, with the image of a " cave government" associated with "mories of war and aspiration for peace".
In addition, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front suggested that the province promote training of high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of energy, logistics and tourism; focus on investing in digital infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, irrigation, education, and healthcare in a modern direction; strongly improve the investment environment, taking the satisfaction of people and businesses as a measure.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front quoted General Secretary To Lam as "3 near, 5 right, 4 no"; close to the people, near the grassroots, near the digital space; must listen, must dialogue, must be exemplary, must take responsibility, must report the results; not formal, not avoid, not push, not perform incorrect functions; recommended that Quang Tri need to be proficient, act substantially, "less sponsors, more results".
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also suggested that the province strengthen national defense, security, corruption prevention, and protection for those who dare to think and dare to do for the common good; after the Congress, it is necessary to immediately issue an Action Program with "6 clear", clear work, clear responsibilities, clear time, clear resources, clear results, so that the Resolution can soon come into life.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front deeply believes that with the tradition of resilience, affection and aspiration to rise up, the Party Committee and People of Quang Tri will successfully implement the Congress Resolution, build a province with rapid and sustainable development, where everyone and every family are warm, prosperous and happy.
Together with the Central working delegation, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front transferred 30 billion VND, which is the amount of support from people nationwide to support Quang Tri province in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 to stabilize its lives.
