On the afternoon of March 27, the People's Council (HĐND) of Quang Tri province, term IX, term 2026-2031, held the first meeting to consolidate the provincial-level government apparatus for the entire term, and at the same time decide on some important contents under its authority.
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council implemented the process of electing positions of the 9th Provincial People's Council and People's Committee, term 2026-2031.
With the consensus and high confidence of the delegates, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the VIII Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, was re-elected Chairman of the IX Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031, with 62/62 votes in favor, reaching 100%.
Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Tran Huy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the VIII Provincial People's Council; Pham Thi Han, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the VIII Provincial People's Council re-elected as Vice Chairman of the IX Provincial People's Council, with a 100% approval rate.
For the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of the VIII term, 2021-2026 term, was re-elected as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of the IX term, 2026-2031 term.
Mr. Hoang Nam; Le Van Bao; Phan Phong Phu; Hoang Xuan Tan; Le Duc Tien re-elected as Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee of term IX, term 2026-2031.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Secretary of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee emphasized that in the context of organizing local government at 2 levels and after the merger, the requirements are higher, the tasks are heavier, requiring strong innovative thinking, drastic and effective actions.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested the 9th Provincial People's Council to constantly improve the quality of decision-making on important issues, especially breakthrough mechanisms and policies to unlock resources and effectively exploit potentials and advantages.
At the same time, strengthen the supervision activities of people-elected bodies, ensuring the maintenance of legal discipline, the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
