In Document No. 1467/UBND-NC dated April 29, the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee proposed that the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province consider and add a number of proposals from Kon Tum province to the Project to reorganize Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces to ensure unity and synchronization.
Accordingly, in order to ensure that the new administrative units are formed after truly stable arrangements and development in accordance with the policy of the Party and the Government, in addition to local orientations and solutions, Kon Tum province proposed the Government to have a priority solution to continue investing and developing socio -economic infrastructure, ensuring the most favorable conditions for people to stabilize production and business in new administrative units. At the same time, it is recommended to supplement free funding for people and businesses in the process of adjusting paper information.
In addition, Kon Tum province also proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee consider and agree to completely resolve the situation of people in Tra Vinh commune, Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province living in Dak Nen commune, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province according to one of two options: transferring 187 households (10,034 people) of village 3, Tra Vinh commune, Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province to Da Nang city (after the merger) to live and reside, or transfer to import households in Quang Ngai province (after the merger).
Regarding the administrative boundaries adjacent to communes of the new Quang Ngai province (after consolidation) and communes of the new Da Nang city (after the consolidation), it is recommended to keep the administrative boundary road under Directive 364/CT.
The Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee will hold a second regular working session on May 10, 2025 in Ly Son district to discuss plans to merge the province.
It is expected that the meeting will discuss the contents, including: Overall plan arranging cadres under the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to manage at the commune level under the model of two -level local government; the number of delegates of the Party Congress of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (New) term 2025–2030; Draft documents submitted to the Congress of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (New) term 2025–2030; and the plan to arrange and arrange public housing for cadres, civil servants and workers after merging the two provinces.
The meeting will take place on the afternoon of May 10, 2025 in Ly Son district.
After merging Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces, the new province will be called Quang Ngai province. The administrative unit of Quang Ngai province (new) has an area of 14,832.548 km2 (reaching 296.65% of the standard), population of 2,161,755 people (reaching 154.41% of the standard), with 96 commune-level administrative units under the commune.
