The Prime Minister has disciplined Mr. Le O Pich, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province, with a warning.

On October 11, the Office of the Government announced that Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed the Prime Minister's decisions on disciplinary action against the Vice Chairman and former Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province.

In Decision No. 1152/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister disciplined Mr. Le O Pich, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province, with a warning due to violations and shortcomings in his work, and the Central Inspection Committee disciplined him in the form of a party.

In Decision No. 1153/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister disciplined Mr. Lai Thanh Son, former Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province (from December 2010 to August 2020) by reprimand for violations and shortcomings in his work, and the Central Inspection Committee has disciplined him in the form of a party reprimand.

The above decisions take effect from October 10, 2024.

Previously, the Central Inspection Committee held its 46th meeting. At this meeting, the Central Inspection Committee reviewed the inspection results and found that:

The Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacked responsibility, slackened leadership, direction, and lacked inspection and supervision, allowing the Provincial People's Council Party Delegation, the Provincial People's Committee Party Executive Committee, and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in a number of investment projects implemented by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company in the province.

Many cadres and party members, including key cadres of the province, have degraded in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, violated the Law on Anti-Corruption, violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do, and violated the responsibility to set an example.

The above violations have caused serious consequences, risking great damage to State money and property, causing bad public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the point of requiring disciplinary action.

Personal responsibility for the above violations and shortcomings belongs to Mr. Le O Pich, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, member of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Lai Thanh Son, former member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; based on Party regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Le O Pich and reprimand Mr. Lai Thanh Son.

The People's Council of Bac Giang province has just held the 20th session (special session) to consider and decide on many important contents.

In which, the People's Council of Bac Giang province passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Le O Pich from the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province at the request of the Chairman of the People's Committee of the province.
