Strategic orientation for ideological unity and action
After the 14th Party Congress, entering a new era, our country is facing many opportunities and fortunes; has increasingly high potential, position, and international prestige, along with national confidence, self-esteem, and pride to move closer to major goals in the cause of building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
However, besides the advantages, the country also faces many intertwined difficulties and challenges, requiring high political determination, the synchronous involvement of the entire political system and the whole society, and persistent efforts to realize the aspiration for strong and prosperous development.
One of the important tasks at the 2nd Conference of the 14th Central Committee recently held in Hanoi is the Central Committee considering the Regulations on Political and Ideological Work in the Party.
At the closing session of the Conference, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the requirement for cadres and party members throughout the Party to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and consistently implement the "Four Resolutions" on politics and ideology.
Four Resolutions" are: Resolutely, creatively applying and developing Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's ideology; Resolutely achieving the goal of national independence and socialism; Resolutely achieving the Party's renovation guidelines; Resolutely achieving the Party's organizational and operational principles to build and firmly protect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Experts and scholars believe that the regulations on political and ideological work have comprehensively concretized the criteria and mechanisms to ensure the building of a politically and ideologically strong Party; ethically clean; united in organization and attached to the people.
In particular, the "four determinations" thoroughly grasped by General Secretary To Lam are as meaningful as a "strategic compass", orienting the unified ideology and actions of the entire Party and people in the new era of development.
Strengthening the exemplary role of cadres and party members
According to Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc - Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council on Culture and Society (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front), political and ideological work is a key and regular task, a red thread throughout all activities of the Party. General Secretary To Lam's emphasis on the "four constants" in Party building work in terms of politics and ideology is very specific, clear, and brings many particularly important meanings.
In the context of the country entering a new era with many major goals and intertwined challenges, political and ideological work plays a long-term strategic role in consolidating the Party's ideological foundation, unifying will and action, maintaining the people's belief, promoting the great national unity bloc, strengthening internal strength, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development.
Exchanging about some key tasks in political and ideological work in the coming time, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Trong Lam - Director, Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth - said that from the "four determinations" that the General Secretary has thoroughly grasped, it is necessary to continue to promote orientation, education, and foster ideals and beliefs for cadres, party members and people to consolidate, develop, and deepen the ideology, the main and official cultural foundation; create solid spiritual strength, strong spirit and strong aspirations in the cause of building a rich, prosperous and developed socialist Vietnam.
Along with that, it is necessary to diversify measures to guide, propagate, and mobilize cadres, party members and people to promote the good traditional qualities of Vietnamese people, such as patriotism, diligence, hard work, creativity, humanity, constantly learning, actively applying science and technology, innovation and spreading a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Trong Lam also said that it is necessary to closely grasp ideological communication work by many measures and forms; strengthen the reception of opinions, reflections, and aspirations of the people through many channels, listen to the people's voices in many ways, prevent the emergence and spread of negative social emotions and psychology.
Strengthen the exemplary role of cadres and party members, especially heads, prestigious people, celebrities, and influential people in implementing social ethical standards. These role models help encourage and spread positive and good social ethical values, promote the building and shaping of a correct ideological life in society.
Applying technology to measure "public opinion temperature", forecasting crises
Emphasizing that cyberspace is the new ideological front of the 21st century, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung - former Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Office - said that it is necessary to apply technology to measure "public opinion temperature", forecast crises and react quickly to bad and toxic information. Dr. Dung said that ideological workers need to be equipped with the ability to listen, understand the public, know how to scientifically criticize and dialogue in the language of the times. From there, shift from speaking for the people to listening for the people to speak and think with the people so that ideological work truly touches the heart and intellect of people.
