On April 28, the People's Council of Lam Dong province, term X, held its 24th session to review and decide on a number of important contents under its authority, serving the task of developing the province's economy and society.
At the meeting, Lam Dong Provincial People's Council discussed and approved 16 Resolutions, including 2 Resolutions approving the Project on reorganizing commune-level administrative units in Lam Dong province and the project on reorganizing Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong provinces.
Ms. Pham Thi Phuc - Chairwoman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Council said that the Resolutions approved by the Provincial People's Council are very important and urgent, ensuring the arrangement of administrative units according to the Central's policies and plans.
Ms. Pham Thi Phuc suggested that Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee continue to coordinate with Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee and Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee to carry out well the personnel work after the merger. At the same time, proactively balance and allocate budgets to invest and repair working headquarters to ensure working facilities of units after the arrangement.

The province also pays attention to public housing and means of transportation for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers after the reorganization. The Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Council also requested the Provincial People's Committee to continue directing units to effectively carry out the province's economic and social development tasks, completing the set goals.
Previously, on April 14, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed Decision No. 759/QD-TTg approving the project to reorganize administrative units at all levels and build a model for organizing local government at both levels. According to this decision, Dak Nong, Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces will be merged into a new province called Lam Dong.
Lam Dong province after the merger will have the largest natural area in the country with 24,233km2 and a population of more than 3.3 million people. The administrative and political center of Lam Dong province is expected to be located in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province.
