On the afternoon of February 25, the Hanoi People's Committee held a conference to implement the Resolution of the City People's Council on the establishment of specialized agencies and administrative organizations under the City People's Committee and announced decisions on personnel work.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu (born in 1969) was assigned and appointed as Director of the Department of Finance after merging the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dai (born in 1973) was assigned and appointed as Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment after merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Son (born in 1972) was assigned and appointed as Director of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology after merging with the Department of Information and Communications.
Mr. Tran Dinh Canh (born in 1974) was assigned and appointed as Director of the Department of Home Affairs after the merger of the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Ms. Bach Lien Huong (born in 1975) was assigned and appointed as Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Thuong (born in 1971) was assigned and appointed as Director of the Department of Construction after the merger of the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport.
Mr. Vo Nguyen Phong (born in 1969) was assigned and appointed as Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.
Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Quan (born in 1969) was appointed as Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
Mr. Vu Xuan Hung (born in 1975) was assigned to be the Head of the Management Board of the Hanoi High-Tech Park and Industrial Park on the basis of merging the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park Management Board and the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Management Board.
Mr. Truong Viet Dung (born in 1980) continues to work as Chief of Office of the Hanoi People's Committee after merging the Department of Foreign Affairs into the Office of the City People's Committee.
The total number of specialized agencies and administrative organizations under the City People's Committee before the arrangement is 23 agencies (including 21 specialized agencies and 2 administrative organizations).
After the arrangement, the total number of specialized agencies of the City People's Committee will be 15 departments (a reduction of 6 departments compared to the present, a reduction of 29%) and 1 other administrative organization (a reduction of 1 administrative organization, a reduction of 50%).
The departments after the reorganization include: Home Affairs, Justice, Finance, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Science and Technology, Culture and Sports, Education and Training, Health, Ethnicity and Religion, Tourism, Planning - Architecture and City Inspectorate, Office of the City People's Committee, Management Board of the high-tech park and industrial park of the city.
