On October 2, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee held a press conference to inform about the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
Mr. Vo Thanh Binh - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department - said that the Congress is an important political event, marking a turning point on the new development path of the province.
At the Congress, the province will evaluate the results of implementing the resolution of the previous term, and at the same time determine the direction to build Lam Dong into a dynamic locality in the region.
Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, said that the first Provincial Party Congress will summarize the resolution for the 2020-2025 term and discuss the direction, goals, tasks, and solutions for the next term; Discuss and contribute opinions to the documents of the 14th National Party Congress and personnel work.
For the 2025-2030 term, Lam Dong has identified 25 development targets in 4 groups of areas including economy, society, environment, and Party building.
In particular, this locality strives for an average growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of about 10-10.5%. Of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 5-5.5%/year; industry and construction increased by 14.5-15.5%/year; services increased by 11-11.5%/year.
The Lam Dong Party Committee proposed key tasks, development breakthroughs and 15 key project groups.
Accordingly, Lam Dong focuses on developing investment projects from the State budget and public-private partners including: North-South high-speed railway project; Dau Giay - Lien Khuong expressway (Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong section); Nha Trang - Lien Khuong expressway; Gia Nghia - Phan Thiet expressway; North - South expressway, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh western section; renovating national highways through the area.
Lam Dong province implements the following projects: New administrative - political center of the province; irrigation works, coastal roads; Son My I and II power plants; Son My port warehouse.
Attract investment in bauxite and aluminum processing factories; renewable energy projects, offshore wind power; coastal economic zone in South Lam Dong, high-tech zone; logistics center, seaports, dry ports; upgrade and expand Lien Khuong international airport, Phan Thiet airport; large-scale commercial urban areas.
The 1st Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, took place from October 9-11 with the participation of 498 official delegates representing more than 119,396 Party members of the Party Committee.
Lam Dong was formed on the basis of merging the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, with an area of over 24,000 km2, the largest in the country, and a population of about 3.9 million people.
