Da Nang City leaders visit Lao National Assembly Chairman

Da Nang - On the morning of August 10, at the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang City, the city's leadership delegation paid respects to the Lao National Assembly Chairman.

The delegation of leaders of the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City led by Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation of Da Nang City Le Ngoc Quang visited and wrote in the mourning book of President of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LDP) Saysomphone Phomvihane at the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang.

Attending the delegation were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh; Deputy Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi and representatives of agencies and departments.

The city's leadership delegation observed a minute of silence to commemorate Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane, Member of the Politburo of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR.

Recording in the mourning book, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang expressed his deepest condolences on the passing of Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane. He affirmed that the Chairman of the Lao National Assembly is a senior leader of the Party, State and people of Laos; a great and close friend of Vietnam, including Da Nang city.

According to the content of the mourning book, Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane made many contributions to connecting and promoting the special friendship, comprehensive cooperation and strategic connection between Laos and Vietnam. The passing of Comrade is a great loss for the Party, State and people of Laos and Vietnam.

Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane was born on December 12, 1956, passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 70.

To express mourning for Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front decided to observe mourning for Comrade according to the National Funeral ceremony for 2 days, from August 10 to 11, 2026.
