At the working session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province Tran Huy Tuan informed the working delegation about the natural and social conditions of Yen Bai province, the achievements in socio-economic development of the province since the beginning of the 2020-2025 term up to now.
Accordingly, the province's economy grew well, the economic structure shifted positively.
The growth rate of total product in the area is quite good; the average of 3 years 2021-2023 reached 7.54%, ranking 5th out of 14 provinces in the region, 9 months of 2024 reached 7.15%.
The average growth rate of the agricultural sector in the 3 years 2021-2023 reached 5.53%, ranking 2nd out of 14 provinces in the region, among the top 5 provinces in the country; in the first 9 months of 2024, it reached 5.3%, ranking 2nd out of 14 provinces.
Leading the northern mountainous provinces in building new rural areas, Yen Bai has so far had 110/150 communes meeting new rural standards, 37 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 11 communes meeting model new rural standards; 4/9 district-level administrative units have completed the task of building new rural areas.
This mountainous locality also pays attention to implementing solutions to improve the investment and business environment; promote investment attraction; promote the development of economic sectors; pay attention to synchronous and comprehensive development of the cultural and social fields, practically improving the quality of life and happiness index of the people...
Also at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province Tran Huy Tuan discussed the results of cooperation with Lao localities in recent times.
Yen Bai province has established friendly cooperative relations with Vientiane province since 2008 and Xay Nha Bu Ly province since 2012. Since then, Yen Bai province and the two localities of Laos have organized 114 delegations to visit, work, exchange and share experiences in the fields of: Socio-economic development, national defense - security, Party building and political system.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Kham Phan Phoi Nha Vong - expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of Yen Bai province for giving the delegation a very warm welcome.
From the valuable lessons of Yen Bai in socio-economic development, Lao localities will absorb and apply them so that the socio-economic development process of the localities will also achieve high results.
