On the afternoon of August 13, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received a delegation of the Lao Business Reform Committee led by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos, Head of the Lao Business Reform Committee Saleumxay Kommasith, who are on a working visit to Vietnam.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the visit and work of the delegation vividly demonstrated the special, close and trusting relationship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the results of cooperation in many fields, especially the exchange of experiences in the field of state-owned enterprise reform, a field of strategic significance for sustainable economic development of each country, contributing positively to strengthening the great relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister shared with the delegation about the process of reforming and restructuring Vietnam's state-owned enterprises in recent years, from rearranging the list of enterprises, equitizing, and divesting state capital to perfecting institutions and policies to improve operational efficiency.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam always considers state-owned enterprises as one of the important pillars of the economy, while implementing strong reforms to ensure effective, transparent operations and compliance with market mechanisms, preventing corruption and negativity.
The Prime Minister also shared experiences in modern corporate governance, empowering state-owned enterprises, applying information technology, digital transformation in management and operation, as well as promoting innovation to improve competitiveness, especially promoting the human factor in ensuring the success of state-owned enterprises.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam is ready to exchange experiences in reforming and restructuring state-owned enterprises, introducing a system of legal documents and management processes, as well as methods of capital mobilization and investment management; suggested that the two sides establish a regular exchange mechanism between competent authorities, especially the exchange of practical experiences at Vietnam's State-owned Corporations and Corporations will help create a comprehensive and in-depth perspective to filter and apply in accordance with the practical situation of Laos.
Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith respectfully thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for receiving and giving the delegation warm affection, and conveyed Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone's greetings to senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith reported to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh about the results of the working session of the delegation with Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission Tran Luu Quang and Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc with the content of an in-depth and extremely effective exchange.
He highly appreciated the reform experiences as well as the operating models of Vietnamese state-owned enterprises as valuable lessons; emphasized that in the process of building an independent and self-reliant economy, Laos always cooperates closely and wishes to learn valuable experiences from Vietnam, especially in the field of state-owned enterprise management and development, the new governance model, towards building an effective and sustainable Lao economy.
