The 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly opened on February 12 and closed on February 19, 2025.
At the session, the National Assembly will consider and pass four laws and five resolutions to serve the work of arranging and perfecting institutions and operating mechanisms of agencies, units and organizations of the political system; and consider and decide on four other contents under its authority.
Most of the contents submitted to the National Assembly will be considered and commented on by the National Assembly Standing Committee at the 42nd Session in February 2025; for some remaining contents, based on the progress of submitting documents and the examination by the National Assembly agencies, the National Assembly Standing Committee will organize another meeting before the opening day of the Session to comment.
Of which, there are 6 draft laws and resolutions related to the arrangement and organization of the apparatus, including: Draft Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended); Draft Law on Government Organization (amended); Draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended);
Resolution submission of the National Assembly on the structure and number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term;
The National Assembly's resolution submission on the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term; the National Assembly's draft resolution regulating the handling of a number of issues related to the reorganization of the state apparatus.
Regarding the proposal for a supplementary project on socio-economic development in 2025 with a growth target of 8% or more, this is an important project that needs to be considered and approved by the National Assembly at this session in accordance with the Central Committee's conclusion to promptly perfect the legal system, clear, mobilize and effectively use investment resources.
This will contribute to creating a solid foundation to achieve a growth rate of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period.
The Government also requested the National Assembly Party Committee to lead and direct the addition of a number of important and urgent contents to the agenda of the 9th Extraordinary Session to submit to the National Assembly for approval according to shortened procedures.
Such as the draft resolution of the National Assembly on specific and special mechanisms and policies to develop the urban railway network system in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City by 2035; policies and specific mechanisms and policies to build nuclear power plants in Ninh Thuan.
