HCMC - Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc is the Head of the HCMC Steering Committee on international integration.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a decision to establish a Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee on international integration. According to the decision, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, will hold the role of Head of the Steering Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is the Deputy Head of the Standing Committee, in charge of international integration in politics, defense and security.

Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, holds the position of Deputy Head of the Department, in charge of international economic integration.

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs, is Deputy Head of the Department, in charge of international integration in culture, society, science - technology and education - training.

The Steering Committee also has 20 members, who are leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the City.

The Steering Committee is responsible for assisting the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in effectively implementing policies and guidelines on international integration at each stage, closely following the Action Program of the City Party Committee to implement Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2025 of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation, as well as the Plan of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to implement Resolution No. 153/NQ-CP dated May 31, 2025 of the Government.

In addition, the Steering Committee is responsible for directing, inspecting, and urging relevant departments, branches, localities and units to implement international integration tasks and solutions; at the same time, advising and reporting to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the integration situation, forecasting arising issues and proposing solutions to take advantage of opportunities and respond to challenges in the integration process.

The Steering Committee is the focal point for coordination with central ministries and branches in implementing integration tasks in Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, supporting and coordinating with provinces and cities in the Southern and Southern Key Economic Zone to improve the effectiveness of international integration.

The members of the Steering Committee perform tasks assigned by the Head of the Committee, associated with the functions and tasks of the agency or unit they are working for.

The focus is on propagating and raising awareness of cadres, civil servants, public employees and people about international integration in the new situation; reviewing and supplementing tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, integrating the content of international economic integration according to the resolutions and directions of the Central and the City.

Focus on supporting the improvement of the competitiveness of the private economic sector, promoting enterprises to integrate deeply into domestic and international value chains; organize conferences and dialogue forums between the government and enterprises to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles.

Promote investment, trade and tourism promotion in key international markets; proactively seek long-term strategic cooperation opportunities, in line with Ho Chi Minh City's development orientation.

Advising on promoting international integration in science - technology, innovation and digital transformation; strengthening international cooperation, attracting experts and high-quality human resources in the fields of high technology, digital technology and artificial intelligence to Ho Chi Minh City.

The fields of culture, society, education - training, health, environment and tourism are also focused on, aiming to promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City to the world.
