Quang Ninh - Today (September 25), Quang Ninh province celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Mining Zones (April 25,55 - April 25, 2025).
After the defeat of the French army in Dien Bien Phu, on July 20, 1954, the Giorgio Agreement (Sweden) was signed on the suspension of war, restoration of peace, and officially ending the French colonial regime in Indochina.
According to the agreement, the majority of Hon Gai, Cam Pha, Quang Yen province and Hai Phong are located in the 300 -day gathering area of the French army. On April 25, 1955 was the final gathering term, the French army had to withdraw all the troops, handing over the 300 -day gathering area to our Government.
On April 24, 2015, the last French soldiers withdrew from the mine area, ending 72 years of French encroachment and dredging coal in the Quang Ninh Mining area. On April 25, 2015, in Hon Gai town, Hong Quang army and people held a solemn rally to celebrate the liberation of the mine. The Hong Quang Military Commission launched it to all the people.
