On the morning of March 30, the 16th Dien Bien Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031, opened its first session. After listening to the personnel introduction reports, the Provincial People's Council proceeded to elect the Chairman, Vice Chairman and heads of the Provincial People's Council committees.
As a result, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the 15th Provincial People's Council for the term 2021-2026, was continued to be elected to hold the position of Chairman of the 16th Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031 with absolute confidence votes, 100% of the delegates present agreed.
Vice Chairman of the 16th Provincial People's Council, including: Ms. Cao Thi Tuyet Lan - Vice Chairman of the 15th Provincial People's Council; Mr. Bui Minh Hai - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee.
The Provincial People's Council also elected Heads of departments. Ms. Ly Thi Phuong Dien - Head of the Economic - Budget Committee, the 15th Provincial People's Council was elected to hold the position of Head of the Economic - Budget Committee.
Ms. Lo Thi Bich - Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the 15th Provincial People's Council was elected to hold the position of Head of the Culture - Society Committee.
Ms. Luong Thu Hien - Deputy Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the 15th Provincial People's Council was elected to hold the position of Head of the Legal Affairs Committee.
Mr. Mua Thanh Son - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Muong Tung commune was elected to hold the position of Head of the Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee.
Speaking to receive the assignment, on behalf of the delegates who were just trusted by the Provincial People's Council to be elected to key positions of the 16th Provincial People's Council, Mr. Le Thanh Do respectfully thanked the trust and confidence of the Central Government, the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the delegates of the Provincial People's Council.
