Implementing the working program at the 8th Session, on November 28, under the direction of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the 15th National Assembly voted to pass the National Assembly's Resolution on approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint the Minister of Finance.
The voting results showed that, with the majority of National Assembly deputies participating in the vote in favor, the National Assembly passed the Resolution of the National Assembly on approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Thang as Minister of Finance for the 2021-2026 term.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang holds the position of Minister of Finance, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Ho Duc Phoc - currently Deputy Prime Minister.
Minister Nguyen Van Thang was born on September 12, 1973; hometown: My Dinh 2 ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi. Professional qualifications: PhD in Economics, Bachelor of Economics in Finance - Credit, Bachelor of English.
From July 2019 to October 2020, he was an alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the 14th Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh province, 14th term.
From October 2020 - October 2022: Member of the Party Central Committee, 12th (alternate), 13th (January 2021), Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee; Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dien Bien province, 14th (from December 2020), 15th (to August 2024); Member of the Economic Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
From October 2022 to present: Member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport; Member of the 15th National Assembly, Member of the National Assembly's Economic Committee.
