On the afternoon of February 20, delegates attending the 21st session (special session) of the 10th term Ho Chi Minh City People's Council voted unanimously to dismiss Mr. Phan Van Mai from the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Previously, on February 18, Mr. Phan Van Mai was elected by the National Assembly as a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, holding the position of Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee.
Mr. Phan Van Mai was born in 1973, from Thanh Phu Dong commune, Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province; professional qualification: Master of economic management, bachelor of business administration, bachelor of English.
Mr. Phan Van Mai is a member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee; a delegate of the 15th National Assembly; holding the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee from 2021 to present.
Yesterday, February 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee announced the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
According to the decision, the Politburo transferred, assigned and appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
Along with that, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc was also introduced to be elected by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.
