On the afternoon of April 2nd, the Office of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee said that National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, signed and issued Resolution No. 2043/NQ-UBTVQH15 approving the results of the election of the title of Chairman of the People's Council (HĐND) of Dong Thap province, term XI, term 2026 - 2031.
According to the resolution, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of the 15th term of Dong Thap province - was approved to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province, 11th term, term 2026 - 2031, from March 30, 2026.
Previously, as Lao Dong newspaper reported, on March 30, 2026, at Ap Bac Hall (Provincial Conference Center), the 11th Dong Thap Provincial People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, opened its first session. At the meeting, delegates elected the title of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. As a result, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the 11th Dong Thap Provincial People's Council with absolute confidence votes, reaching 100% of the delegates present in favor.
