On the afternoon of February 21, the People's Council of Ca Mau province held the 13th thematic session. At the session, the Provincial People's Council considered removing Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee from his duties as a delegate of the Provincial People's Council and from his position as Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Council.
Previously, in January 2025, the Politburo transferred, assigned and appointed Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
At the session, the delegates of the People's Council of Ca Mau province also unanimously elected Mr. Phan Hoang Vu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ca Mau province, term X, 2021 - 2026.
Also at the meeting, the People's Council of Ca Mau province passed 6 Resolutions on organizing the apparatus and establishing departments and branches under the Provincial People's Committee, including: Merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment into the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Merge the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport into the Department of Construction; establish the provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
Merge the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Information and Communications into the Department of Science and Technology. Merge the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs into the Department of Home Affairs. Merge the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance into the Department of Finance.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai - Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee - shared: "I have worked in Ca Mau for 42 years since 2008. During that time, I was assigned to many different positions. I always strive, practice, study and try to complete assigned tasks well. During that process, I was cared for, educated, and supported by the staff and predecessors to fulfill my duties well and gradually mature. I am truly grateful and deeply hold in my heart the feelings, responsibilities and am grateful for that.
Mr. Hai also confided that in life and work, there are certain times when there are inevitable mistakes and shortcomings in the organization, agency, comrade, and teammates. In particular, I was very hot-tempered but tried to fix it but it still worked. During the heat of work, I sometimes don't restrain myself, sometimes make someone feel frustrated, someone angry, upset. Here, I would like to acknowledge my shortcomings and shortcomings and hope that you will forgive me, Mr. Hai confided.
