On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27,47 - July 27, 2025), on July 26, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs and war invalids in Hue City.
In Thuan Hoa ward, the Deputy Prime Minister visited Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1926) - a revolutionary veteran who was arrested and imprisoned by the enemy while participating in the patriotic student movement in00.

Expressing his deep gratitude for Mr. Tien's contributions and sacrifices in the cause of resistance and national construction, the Deputy Prime Minister wished him good health and hope he would continue to be a shining example for the younger generation to follow.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien was awarded the First Class Anti-US Resistance Medal by the State, and was awarded the title of National Emulation Fighter in 1962, and the period 1980 - 1985.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and presented gifts to families of people with outstanding meritorious services, including:
Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan (residing in Kim Long Ward), 81% war invalid, participating in the revolution since December 1964, has a child who is a martyr - Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Hai - who died while performing rescue missions at Rao Trang 2 Hydropower Plant (in 2020).
War invalid Le Thi Nhan (born in 1951), who was a resistance fighter, was exposed to toxic chemicals and is the child of a martyr.
War invalid Nguyen Thi Chuyen (born in 1948), was arrested and imprisoned by the enemy. The family has a revolutionary tradition with 4 martyrs, including Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.
War invalid Le Xuan Toan (born in 1950), was arrested and imprisoned by the enemy during the resistance war.
On behalf of the Party and the State, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented gifts from the Government and sent warm condolences and encouragement to the families.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Hue City, the locality currently has nearly 80,000 people with meritorious services to the revolution, including over 19,000 martyrs, more than 13,000 wounded and sick soldiers, 2,473 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 4,368 people imprisoned by the enemy, and 2,268 people infected with toxic chemicals.
Hue currently has 14,090 people receiving monthly preferential allowances with a total payment cost of nearly 38.9 billion VND/month. Including 11 revolutionary veterans, pre-upprising cadres; 18 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; more than 4,000 armed forces heroes, war invalids; nearly 1,300 people were infected with toxic chemicals; more than 1,500 people were arrested and imprisoned by the enemy.
