Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 427/QD-TTg on consolidating the National Committee for Children (Committee).
According to Decision No. 427/QD-TTg, the Chairman of the Committee is Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long.
The Vice Chairman of the Committee includes: Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan (Standing Vice Chairman) and Minister of Education and Training.
The Committee members include: Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc (Standing Member); Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Long; Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc; Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha; Deputy Minister of Justice Dang Hoang Oanh; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy; Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion Y Vinh Tor; Deputy Chairman of the Government Office Do Ngoc Huynh; Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Tien; Deputy Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy Nguyen Quang Dung; Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Thanh Hai; Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Pham Manh Hung; representatives of leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Thu Hien; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Nguyen Pham Duy Trang; Chairman of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights Nguyen
The Committee has the function of assisting the Prime Minister in researching, directing, and coordinating the settlement of important inter-sectoral tasks in the implementation of children's rights and solving children's issues.
The task of the Committee is to research, advise, recommend, and propose to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to solve important inter-sectoral issues in the implementation of children's rights, solve children's issues; assist the Prime Minister in directing and coordinating between ministries, ministerial-level agencies, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations of the Front, social organizations, socio-professional organizations in the implementation of children's rights and solving children's issues.
Members of the Committee work on a part-time basis and uphold the personal responsibility of the head, according to the principles of centralism, democracy, public discussion, and ensuring unified direction.
Chairman of the Committee promulgates the Regulations on organization and operation of the Committee.
