On the evening of January 15, Ben Tre province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Ben Tre province's founding (January 1, 1900 - January 1, 2025); 65th anniversary of Ben Tre Dong Khoi Day (January 17, 1960 - January 17, 2025).
At the ceremony, the leaders of Ben Tre province read a speech reviewing the glorious and heroic revolutionary tradition of Ben Tre province; announced the founding day of the province; announced the Prime Minister's Decision to recognize Ben Tre province's traditional day on January 17. At the same time, the title of "Outstanding Dong Khoi Citizen" and "Honorary Dong Khoi Citizen" was awarded to 8 individuals. In addition, the "New Dong Khoi" emulation movement was launched to continue to fulfill the goals of economic, cultural and social development, ensuring national defense and security. Especially spreading positivity, enthusiasm, creativity and aspiration to rise up from pride and love for the homeland, making specific contributions to Ben Tre province.

The Deputy Prime Minister especially congratulated Ben Tre province on the fact that the Prime Minister decided to take January 17 every year as "Ben Tre Province Traditional Day" to honor the cultural and historical values of Ben Tre province, while at the same time arousing the spirit and aspiration to rise up, promoting socio-economic development and enhancing solidarity in the community.
It is even more meaningful when January 17 is also the day of the Dong Khoi movement in the past. The Traditional Day will be a meaningful occasion for every Ben Tre citizen to review the good traditions and be proud of the achievements that the province has achieved through historical periods, promote more strongly the Dong Khoi spirit, Dong Khoi values, and constantly strive to enrich the homeland and the country.
In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Party Committee, government, army and people of Ben Tre to continue to preserve and foster the great national unity bloc, constantly improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; consolidate solidarity and unity within the Party Committee and the entire political system, creating consensus among all classes of people. It is necessary to focus on effectively organizing and implementing the Ben Tre Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; arrange the apparatus to be "streamlined, efficient, effective and efficient" so that Ben Tre becomes a fairly developed province of the country by 2030, aiming to become a prosperous province by 2050.
