The report at the scene said that the circulation of storm No. 3 caused particularly serious damage in My Ly commune with a total estimated cost of nearly 502 billion VND, of which 439 houses were affected, 221 houses were swept away or completely buried. However, thanks to the good implementation of the "4 on-site" motto, there were no human casualties.

After surveying Xieng Tam village - where 62 houses were swept away - and visiting and giving gifts to the people, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc had a working session with leaders of the province, departments, branches and local authorities at the headquarters of My Ly commune.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh reported: The whole Nghe An province suffered an estimated damage of more than VND 3,635 billion due to storm No. 3, of which 450 houses collapsed, 5,426 houses were deeply flooded, 1,601 houses were damaged by landslides; traffic infrastructure suffered about VND 1,390 billion in damage, with 25 bridges damaged or completely washed away.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed: Governments at all levels have proactively responded to natural disasters thanks to the strong direction from the Central Government. In particular, although in the early stages of implementing the two-level government, communes still effectively promote their operational role, ensuring evacuation work and supporting people's safety.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc praised the efforts of the government, functional forces and people. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: "Do not let people fall into the situation of missed meals, lack of accommodation, lack of medicine or schooling conditions for children". The Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to quickly implement the reconstruction of houses, focus on resettlement with specific plans, and flexibly procedures for land conversion in emergency situations.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested restoring essential infrastructure systems such as transportation, water supply, healthcare, schools and thoroughly treating the environment after floods. In areas at risk of landslides, there must be a plan to relocate residents and plant trees to keep the banks of rivers and streams, typically the Nam Non river section through Xieng Tam village.

The Government has decided to support Nghe An with 100 billion VND urgently, and the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to propose an additional 500 billion VND from central reserve sources. This is the second time in 10 days that Government leaders have directly inspected and directed the recovery of natural disaster consequences in Nghe An.

In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
