Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has just signed Decision No. 972/QD-TTg establishing the National Council on Juvenile Justice.
According to the decision, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc is the Chairman of the National Council on Juvenile Justice (Council).
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Council is General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security.
The Vice Chairmen of the Council include: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister, Head of the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau - Deputy Minister of National Defense; Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Tien; Deputy Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy Nguyen Quang Dung.
Members of the Council are representatives of relevant ministries and sectors, including: Deputy Director of the Government Office Don Tuan Phong; Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Hoang Cong Thuy; Deputy Minister of Justice Dang Hoang Oanh; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang; Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha; Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh; Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc.
The Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Public Security and the Standing Vice Chairman of the Council to decide on the establishment of the Council's Working Group to perform tasks according to the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Law.
The National Council for Juvenile Justice has the task of issuing documents directing and urging ministries and sectors to organize the implementation of issues related to juvenile justice; coordinating with relevant agencies and organizations to direct and urge ministries and sectors to report on the results of task implementation; issuing documents directing and urging social work activities and announcing the list of social workers, training, fostering, and professional training for social workers in juvenile justice activities.
Guiding the work of statistics, information, reporting on the results of juvenile justice work and performing other tasks as required by the Prime Minister.
