Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued Resolution No. 1654/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in An Giang province in 2025.
After the arrangement, An Giang province has 102 commune-level administrative units, including: 85 communes, 14 wards and 3 special zones;
Of which, there are 79 communes, 14 wards, 3 special areas formed after the arrangement prescribed in this Article and 6 communes that do not implement the arrangement are the communes: My Hoa Hung, Binh Giang, Binh Son, Hon Nghe, Son Hai, Tien Hai.

3 special zones include: Kien Hai, Phu Quoc, Tho Chau.
This Resolution takes effect from the date of approval (June 16).
The competent authorities urgently carry out necessary preparations to ensure that local authorities in commune-level administrative units formed after the arrangement prescribed in Article 1 of this Resolution officially operate from July 1, 2025.
Local authorities in commune-level administrative units before the reorganization will continue to operate until the local government in commune-level administrative units is formed after the reorganization and officially operates.
