In order to review the glorious revolutionary tradition, show gratitude to previous generations and promote development achievements after 50 years, Phu Yen province will organize a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Provincial Liberation Day (April 1, 1975 - April 1, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The official ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 1, 2025 at April 1 Square (Tuy Hoa City), with the participation of leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, representatives of central ministries, branches, neighboring localities, armed forces, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, cadres and people inside and outside the province.
Previously, on the morning of April 1, the province will hold an incense offering ceremony at the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery, Nui Nhan Memorial, Memorial House for Lawyer - Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho and the provincial martyrs' temple.
On the same day, the Provincial People's Committee organized a meeting with cadres participating in the resistance war before 1975. The armed forces organized a reception for groups of veterans to visit the ancient battlefield and visit the Vung Ro National Monument.
From March 17 to 28, the Organizing Committee of the commemorative activities will visit and present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution in difficult circumstances.
One of the highlights is the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements and Introducing Typical Products, Cuisine, and Tourism of provinces and cities, taking place from March 30 to January 3 at April 1 Square. The exhibition brings together 120 booths, with the participation of 25 provinces/cities and 45 units and enterprises in the province.
The province also announced the decision to recognize the national treasure of Phu sculpture Kala Nui Ba on the morning of April 1 at Phu Yen Museum.
At the same time, many typical projects such as the Hung Vuong Street East Housing Project, Xuan Dai Bay Commercial Service and Resort Tourism Complex, Luong Van Chanh High School for the Gifted and the Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital were organized to be started, inaugurated and have signs attached.
In particular, the 2025 Phu Yen Provincial Cross Country Race will take place on the morning of March 23 at Nghinh Phong Square (Tuy Hoa City), gathering more than 2,000 athletes to compete in distances of 3km, 5km and 10km.
