Son La - Heavy rain lasting from the night of July 26 to the early morning of July 27 caused flash floods in many localities in the province, causing 6 people to die and go missing.

According to a quick report as of 5:00 p.m. on July 27 by the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Son La province, the whole province recorded 2 deaths due to flash floods, including: Mr. Lo Van De (born in 1956, residing in Huoi Sai village, Chieng So commune) and Ms. Ly Thi Cha (born in 1964, Huoi Lech village, Muong Lam commune).

In addition, there are 4 others currently missing, including: Mr. Lo Van Noi and Mr. Ca Van Mai (both residing in Na Can 2 village, Chieng So commune), Mr. Vang Chu Van (Huoi Lech village, Muong Lam commune), and Mr. Lo Van Thinh (Huoi Sai village, Chieng So commune).

In addition to human damage, floods have seriously affected infrastructure. The whole province recorded 29 affected houses, of which 2 were swept away, 27 houses had to be urgently evacuated.

Regarding traffic, many routes were eroded, especially the 4G national highway section from km95 to km113 through Huoi Mot commune and Sop Cop commune, which were eroded about 40-45% of the route length. 5 suspension bridges in Muong Lam commune were damaged.

The power grid and telecommunications were also severely affected with dozens of power poles falling, thousands of customers without power, and many telecommunication stations being interrupted.

Faced with complicated weather developments, the People's Committee of Son La province has deployed working groups to the area, directly directing the response and overcoming of the consequences.

Localities are implementing the "4 on-site" motto, focusing on searching for missing people, evacuating people, ensuring safety for people and property.
