On the afternoon of March 15, at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park (Hanoi), Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting with the Ministry of National Defense and relevant ministries and branches.
The working session evaluated the results of research and production of high-tech defense industry in 2024, orientation of key tasks in 2025, contributing to concretizing Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.
Also attending were General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son.
Reports and opinions at the meeting assessed that in recent times, agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense, led by the General Department of Defense Industry and the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) have achieved many breakthrough results in implementing key tasks in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and national defense assigned by the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense.
That result is directly aimed at enhancing the country's defense potential. Our army has mastered the system design, mastered the system integration and mastered the core technologies of high-tech defense products, successfully produced and handed over a number of strategic equipment products in the army and effectively served the socio-economic development of the country.
Recognizing and praising the achieved results, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed the defense industry products researched and developed by our army itself, especially strategic products that have, are and will contribute to creating a foundation to build a proactive, self-reliant, self-reliant, dual-use, and modern Vietnamese defense industry.
Products that have promoted internal strength are the decisive factor; closely linked and becoming the spearhead of national industry.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of National Defense to promote the achieved results and continue to better perform the assigned tasks; especially taking the lead in effectively implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo, accelerating the development of the semiconductor chip industry.
Promote the combined strength of modern defense industry development, becoming the spearhead of national industry, effectively serving the goals and tasks of protecting and building the country in the new era, developing prosperously and prosperously, for social progress and the happiness of the people.
The Prime Minister emphasized that, based on the assessment of the results and experiences of 2024, ministries and branches continue to coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense to advise the Party and State on policies and guidelines for developing the defense industry to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
In particular, focusing on closely combining basic scientific research with application, human resource training, infrastructure expansion and improvement.
Research, advise, and develop specific, special, and breakthrough policy mechanisms to quickly and qualitatively promote tasks, meeting the tasks assigned by the Party and the State.
