The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has just issued Resolution No. 1192/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Can Tho City for the period 2023-2025.
The Resolution clearly states the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Ninh Kieu district as follows:
Merge the entire natural area of 0.50km2, population of 10,851 people of An Phu ward, the entire natural area of 0.35km2, population of 7,635 people of An Nghiep ward and the entire natural area of 0.61km2, population of 23,313 people of An Cu ward into Thoi Binh ward.
After the merger, Thoi Binh ward has a natural area of 1.99km2 and a population of 56,364 people.
After the arrangement, Ninh Kieu district has 8 wards.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Can Tho City has 9 district-level administrative units, including 5 districts and 4 counties; 80 commune-level administrative units, including 36 communes, 39 wards and 5 towns.
This Resolution comes into force from November 1, 2024.
The Government, People's Council, People's Committee of Can Tho City and relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution; arranging and perfecting the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
The National Assembly Council, the National Assembly Committees and the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City, within the scope of their duties and powers, shall supervise the implementation of this Resolution.
